We believe RegTech has experienced a renaissance during 2017 and see it as the beginning of RegTech 2.0. The report focuses on the emerging trends in RegTech, exploring the sector from the perspectives of startups, regulators and banks.
We looked at the universe of RegTech startups, segmented them, interviewed them and discovered the challenges both banks and startups face when they work together. We also interviewed DBS Bank, BBVA, International RegTech Association and Alvarez & Marsal and other regulatory experts to understand external viewpoints on what could help RegTech achieve success faster.
We have also noticed a wider sense of collaboration in this space, with banks, regulators, RegTechs, software providers and universities joining together to solve common banking or supervisory problems or “use cases”.
